Orcal was a Discord bot I wrote in high school. It started as a joke economy in one server and ended up in sixty more. Hosted on Replit, written in Python with Discord.py — the lessons were less about Python and more about what a feature is when your users are bored teenagers.

/what-it-did

An in-server economy with currency, daily rewards, and a small marketplace. Mini-games — tic-tac-toe, rock paper scissors, a few text duels. Moderation utilities for small server admins who wanted soft auto-mod without paying for a serious bot.

/what-it-taught-me

Feature creep is what users ask for. Rate limits exist for a reason, and free hosting is free for a reason — Replit's keep-alive hacks were my first real introduction to operational concerns.

Archived; the current Discord API has long since moved past what Orcal was built on.
